Alveosport is soft, but made for hard use. The material withstands mechanical loads by compressing and quickly recovering. The high-quality foam retains its original mechanical properties for decades. In fact, Alveosport is known to often outlast the grass layer that covers it. Alveosport fields around the world have been in service for many years and still promise a long future as fine playing surfaces.

Because grass fields require time for recovery and maintenance after being used, the rule of thumb is that one artificial field is equivalent to three grass fields. This three-for-one deal is hard to beat. Synthetic turf requires no watering, fertilizers, herbicides, mowing, or patching – costs that add up to six-digit figures over the years.

An artificial field can serve where a grass field would be unthinkable. For instance, Tromsø Field in Norway, situated at the Arctic Circle, is usable at low temperatures when a grass field would be too icy and hard. On the other hand, artificial turf is also ideal in covered stadiums or in a desert climate. And there's never any waiting for recovery or maintenance of grass between matches.

• Alveosport fields can be used more intensively than grass fields; thus they conserve land. They also require fewer machines and less energy for construction and maintenance.
• Artificial turf requires no watering, which is especially important in hot arid climates, where municipal water supplies are limited and grass requires constant sprinkling.
• Grass fields are routinely treated with fertilizers, herbicides, and other hazardous chemicals that can leach into groundwater or come into contact with athletes. Artificial turf fields require no chemical treatment, and the system layers are inert.
• The artificial turf system will be easy to recycle at the end of its long service life. The layers are not permanently bonded together, so the materials can be separated, sorted, and recycled. Polyolefin foam (Alveosport) is typically shredded and made into drainage mats.

Alveosport is easy to install in most weather conditions. It can be laid over any normal sub-base and covered with any type of synthetic grass mat. The rolls are typically two metres wide and weigh about 100 kilograms, so they are easy to handle. Alveosport rolls out flat, and our taping machine makes taping the joints a snap. Another time-saver is sheets factory cut to the field length. Two men can easily roll out Alveosport over the foundation and tape the seams, covering an entire field within a day.
